Hammond Lab

The Hammond lab is a research team in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We study how one of our bodies’ microscopic but incredibly intricate structures – the cell membrane – function to keep our bodies active, and the ways is which they go wrong in disease.

Explore our site to find out more about what we do, keep up to date with our latest discoveries, and look for opportunities to join our team. You can also keep up to date with what we’re up to with our Facebook and Instagram pages (look for Hammond Lab!).

Welcome incoming IBGP class of 2021! We have lots of opportunities available for rotation projects, and pots of money to support graduate students. Check out the website and the “join” page to learn more!

Not a grad student? Check out the join page anyway – we have an exciting opportunity available for anyone interested in research!
